Carrie Karnes-Fannin started reading when she was three and hasn't stopped since. When Carrie was in elementary school in Arkansas, she read The Call of the Wild, leading to a failed attempt to teach her dachshund and beagle to be sled dogs.
Carrie took six years of art while working her first job, carrying her dad's equipment during his photoshoots. As a grown-up, Carrie graduated from the New York Institute of Photography and the Children's Book Academy. She is a member of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI).
Carrie lives in Atlanta where she takes photos of her dogs being silly, hikes in the woods, and creates picture books.
