Carrie Karnes-Fannin began reading when she was three and hasn't stopped since. A lifelong southerner, when Carrie was nine, she read The Call of the Wild, leading to a failed attempt to turn her dachshund and beagle into sled dogs.
In high school, Carrie studied art while working her first job carrying her dad's gear during his photoshoots. As a grown-up, Carrie graduated from the New York Institute of Photography, but never stopped learning. She's taken many courses on the art of writing pictures books, including with the Children's Book Academy, the Writing Barn, and the Storyteller Academy. She is a member of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI). Carrie lives in Atlanta, where she takes photos of her dogs being silly, hikes in the woods, and creates picture books. |
